The Slovenian House, located in the center of Cortina d’Ampezzo, established itself as a meeting place for athletes, fans, business partners, domestic and international guests, and visitors to the Olympic Games. Between 6 and 22 February, more than 25 different events were held at the Slovenian House, attended by over 10,000 guests. The Slovenian House was open to all Olympic visitors, who ensured it was fully occupied throughout this period. This confirms the exceptional importance of the Slovenian House as an effective platform for promoting Slovenian sport, the economy, and the country as a whole.

We are extremely proud that the ambassador of the Slovenia House was Tina Maze — the most successful Slovenian athlete in the history of the Olympic Winter Games, the greatest alpine skier, and the most accomplished sportswoman Slovenia has ever had. Throughout her remarkable career, Tina Maze won four Olympic medals (two gold and two silver), nine World Championship medals (four gold and five silver), and achieved 26 World Cup victories.Her 2012/2013 season remains the most impressive in the history of the Alpine Ski World Cup — with a record-setting 2,414 points, she set a benchmark that no female skier has surpassed to this day. With Team to aMaze, led by coach Andrea Massi, she proved that total dedication, hard work, and focus lead to extraordinary results.

The Slovenian House was open to all visitors of the Olympic Games

The Slovenia House opened its doors to all Slovenian sports fans and supporters from around the world. In a lively, relaxed, and fan-friendly atmosphere, visitors were able to follow daily broadcasts of the Olympic events, experienced the pulse of Cortina, and cheered enthusiastically for Slovenia’s sporting heroes.

A dedicated part of the Slovenia House was reserved for business and bilateral events, conferences, presentations, and receptions.

Situated in the very centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Slovenia House shined just steps away from the official fan zone and only one hundred metres from the main stage of the Olympic Games, where sports enthusiasts from around the world gathered.
This outstanding location opened the door to numerous opportunities for networking, cooperation, and the promotion of Slovenia, while ensuring excellent connectivity with other national houses, Olympic venues, bars, and shops.

The Slovenia House at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games was not merely a showcase, but a platform for fostering collaboration and strengthening Slovenia’s international presence.

Vision

The Slovenia House in Cortina d’Ampezzo aimed to be a space for an authentic and comprehensive presentation of Slovenia. Its purpose was to offer visitors a sense of warmth, togetherness, and the sporting spirit that characterise our country.

We sought to create an environment that enables meaningful interactions — from cheering and social gatherings to presentations and content that bring together people from diverse backgrounds.

The Slovenia House aspired to become an international meeting point — a place for exchanging ideas, forming connections, and presenting stories that reflect the diversity and creativity of Slovenia.

Mission

To present Slovenia as a dynamic, innovative, and welcoming country that brings together sporting achievements, cultural heritage, economic strength, and tourism appeal was the main mission of the Slovenia House.

Through a diverse programme of events, exhibitions, presentations, and interactive content, we aimed to showcase the many facets of Slovenia and encourage interest in cooperation, networking, and exchange across various fields.

Values

The values we upheld in the Slovenia House were passion for excellence, respect for tradition and innovation, mutual cooperation, and openness to the world.
These foundations allowed us to create an environment where people feel welcomed, inspired, and connected.

Design concept

The warmth of wood, the distinctive patterns of Slovenian heritage, and the welcoming atmosphere created a sense of home, even when far away. The visual identity of the Slovenia House drew inspiration from the toplar—a traditional wooden hayrack that once served as a community space and a part of everyday life. It was this spirit of connection that we brought to the heart of Cortina.

The wooden structure, natural motifs, and refined details subtly reminded us of our roots. The Slovenia House continued the design narrative that began in PyeongChang — a story of a space that combined homeliness with contemporary expression and Olympic energy.

Inside, the history of Slovenian skiing was presented in a modern and curated way. It was not merely a showcase of achievements, but a journey from the first wooden skis to the defining moments that shaped our sporting heritage and contributed to Slovenian identity.
